Smaug, the Unassessably Wealthy

Smaug, Soni Alcorn-Hender

Smaug

‘Smaug the Terrible’ dragon from the (film-version) of The Hobbit.
In his treasure are actual little gems, a tiiiny Arkenstone, and enough 22k gold leaf to even satisfy a Dwarf, briefly.

This shiny, jewel-encrusted wyrm will be one of the prizes in my art giveaway for the winner to choose from! Keep an eye on my Facebook page to see the other art prizes as they’re finished, and then for the contest itself afterwards!
A4 / 8×11.5″, acrylics, pencil, gold paint, liquid gold, 22k gold leaf, and glass crystals of various sizes.Smaug, Soni Alcorn-Hender

Radagast the Brown

I did this as an indulgence just because I think Sylvester McCoy has a glorious face, and I loved the idea of framing Radagast with lovely living things.
This is the movie version of Radagast-ish, but without the bird poo etc. because he’s better than that.

And here’s how he was done. :)

Sam & Frodo Artwork for The Hillywood Show!

The talented parody sisters Hannah and Hilly Hindi asked if I could provide some sketches for the end credits of their LotR parody (to mimic the credits of Return of the King), but they specifically asked for Sam and Frodo ‘with all the feels’.

Here’s what I drew for them. (All 10.5×7″, graphite on watercolour paper)

And here’s their lovely video – make sure to have tissues handy!

Sketching Rivendell

I’ve been asked a few times how I draw, and the answer is: ‘erratically, with lots of mistakes and some dithering’, and behold there’s now proof.

(This is my first time filming something with this camera, and time lapse, and making films, and .. everything. Humble apologies for the sloggy bits.)
